EU approves 10th Russia sanctions package

The European Union has approved the 10th package of sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine, the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU said in a tweet on Friday.

"Together, the EU Member States have imposed the most forceful and far-reaching sanctions ever to help Ukraine win the war.," the Swedish presidency stated. The latest measures target "individuals and entities supporting the war, spreading propaganda or delivering drones used by Russia in the war" and also include tighter export restrictions on dual-use goods and technology and measures against "Russian misinformation.

Earlier in the day, the United States and Canada also imposed additional sanctions against Moscow on the anniversary of the start of its operation in Ukraine.
