The European Union is planning to impose sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The measure will allegedly include freezing their assets, but not a travel ban in order to "keep symbolic diplomatic possibilities open."

EU foreign ministers will meet today to discuss the third round of sanctions, which will reportedly also include measures against all members of the State Duma, Russian security council, as well as Russia and Belarusian officials that "facilitated" the invasion of Ukraine.
