The consumer price index (CPI) in the Eurozone grew by 2.4% on a yearly basis in March, according to the second report by Eurostat released on Wednesday. The figure confirms the preliminary report for the euro area and the European Union, where annual inflation stood at 2.6%. Core inflation for the Eurozone was also confirmed at 2.9%, while monthly inflation remained at 0.8%.
The highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco, non-energy industrial goods, and energy. The highest inflation was recorded in Romania at 6.7% and Croatia at 4.9%, and the lowest was seen in Lithuania ar 0.4% and Finland at 0.6%.
