Retail trade in the Eurozone declined by 0.3% in June compared to May, according to the latest Eurostat report on Friday. In the European Union, retail sales fell by 0.2%. Compared to June 2022, retail sales dropped by 1.4% in the euro area and by 1.6% in the EU.
In the Eurozone, the volume of trade of food, drinks and tobacco decreased by 0.3% in June on a monthly basis, non-food products were down by 0.1%, while the sales of automotive fuels increased by 1%. In the EU, food, drinks and tobacco sales lost 0.4%, non-food products 0.2%, and automotive fuels gained 0.7%.
