The euro plunged near 1% compared to the United States dollar on Thursday, seemingly impacted by European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde's remarks about interest rates.
After the central bank announced it will leave interest rates unchanged, Lagarde hinted that rate hikes may come in "anywhere between a week to several months."
The euro dropped 0.97% versus the dollar at 10:13 am ET, selling for 1.07851, the lowest since April 2020.
