JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is set to be deposed and testify under oath over the lender's decision to keep Jeffrey Epstein on as a client despite warnings about human trafficking allegations against him, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, Dimon is due to be interviewed in May as part of two cases against the bank filed by one of Epstein's alleged victims and the US Virgin Islands. The bank is said to be accused of having ignored several internal warnings about Epstein's illegal actions, but JPMorgan has denied these allegations.
Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in 2019 after being convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and sex trafficking, was a client at JPMorgan from 1998 to 2013. Earlier this month, JPMorgan sued its former CEO Jes Staley over his links to Epstein.
