Eurozone's consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.4% in February on an annual basis, according to a flash estimate published by the European Union's statistical office Eurostat on Monday. The figure marks a decrease from the annual inflation rate of 2.5% recorded in January.
The largest price increases are expected in services, at 3.7%, and food, alcohol and tobacco, at 2.7%. Non-energy industrial goods prices are seen rising 0.6% and energy prices are seen going up 0.2%.
Among member states, the highest inflation rates measured by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices were seen in Croatia, at 4.7%, and Belgium, at 4.4%, while the lowest rates were observed in France, at 0.9%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were up 0.5% in the euro area.
