The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone remained at 2.4% in April, matching the figure registered in March and stated in the preliminary estimate, the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat said in the report released on Friday. In the European Union, the figure also remained at the previous month's level of 2.6%.
In the euro area, the monthly rate stood at 0.6%. The index for core inflation, which excludes energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco also remained stable at 2.7%. Compared to the previous month, it came in at 0.7%, having been revised down from 0.8%.
The rise in the annual inflation rate was attributed mostly to services. The lowest figures were seen in Lithuania at 0.4%, Denmark at 0.5%, and Finland at 0.6%.
