The annual inflation rate in the Eurozone stood at 2.2% in November, moving up from October's 2.0%, the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat revealed in its final report published on Wednesday. The figure came in slightly lower than the 2.3% given in the preliminary estimate and, hence, narrowly missed analysts' projections.
Compared to the previous month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) declined by 0.3%. In the European Union, it increased by 2.5% year-on-year and dropped by 0.2% month-on-month.
The report attributed the annual rise mostly to services, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco, and non-energy industrial goods. The lowest rates were seen in Ireland at 0.5%, and Lithuania and Luxembourg at 1.1%. The highest ones were registered in Romania at 5.4%, Belgium at 4.8%, and Croatia at 4.0%.
