Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams expressed optimism about the US economy and job market, while also noting some concerns. The official stated he expects inflation to ease to 3.25% this year, but the demand to still outstrip supply.
He added that growth is likely to remain positive this year, welcoming the decline in discount window stigma. However, he noted that the Fed's balance sheet is still larger than it needs to be and that the bank is still unsure how much credit conditions will tighten.
