Adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mykhailo Podolyak, on Sunday blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin's Mariupol visit, describing it as an insensitive act that shows a lack of remorse for the suffering and destruction caused by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Talking about the International Criminal Court's issuing of an arrest warrant against Putin, Podolyak claimed that despite "the civilized world" announcing an arrest of a "war director," the alleged "murderer of thousands of Mariupol families came to admire the ruins of the city and graves." "The criminal always returns to the crime scene," Podolyak concluded.

Putin traveled to Mariupol as well as Crimea over the weekend.
