France's gross domestic product (GDP) declined 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to the previous three-month period, the country's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) confirmed on Friday in a report. This comes after an economic growth of 0.4% in the third trimester.
Quarter on quarter, consumption of services also fell 0.1% in the reported three-month period, while consumption of goods grew 0.2%.
Exports rebounded in the fourth quarter of 2024, increasing 0.4%. Imports also grew by 0.4%. "Overall, the contribution of foreign trade to GDP growth was null in Q4 2024," INSEE said.
