Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally and its allies clinched 33.15% in the first round of the legislative election in France and already secured 38 seats in parliament, final results released by the Interior Ministry showed.
The leftist New Popular Front came in second with 28.14% of the vote, securing 32 seats in the first round, while President Emmanuel Macron's Ensemble bloc was third with 21.27%, winning only two seats so far.
Since no party won a majority, the second round of the vote will take place on July 7.
