French inflation up to 3.6% in February

The French Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.6% in February, according to a preliminary report by the country's statistical office INSEE. The figure is up from January's annual inflation rate of 2.9%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices were seen growing 0.7%, while the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices is expected to rise 4.1% year on year and 0.8% month on month.

The final inflation data for February is scheduled to be released on March 15.
