German GDP rises 0.2% in Q3

Germany's gross domestic product (GDP) adjusted for price, season and calendar rose 0.2% in the third quarter of 2024 in comparison to the previous three-month period, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis said in a preliminary report released on Wednesday. The GDP fell 0.2% on an annual basis as well. The numbers came in above analyst expectations.

"Government and household final consumption expenditure, in particular, increased in the third quarter of 2024," the report noted. The GDP, adjusted just for price, rose 0.2% in the reported quarter, year over year.
