The annual inflation rate in Germany reached 2.2% in March, a decline compared to 2.3% recorded in February, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in its preliminary report published on Monday.
Over the month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.3%. The Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI), which does not include food and energy, rose by 2.3% year-on-year and added 0.4% month-on-month.
The prices of food increased by 2.9% compared to the same month in 2024, and those of energy fell by 2.8%.
