The German trade surplus amounted to €13.4 billion in October, down from September's €16.9 billion and €18.9 billion registered in October 2023, the country’s Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in a report on Friday.
The country's calendar and seasonally adjusted goods exports amounted to €124.6 billion, declining 2.8% both on a monthly level and year over year. Imports stood at €111.2 billion, down 0.1% month on month but up 1.7% on an annual level.
Exports to the European Union fell by 0.7% in October compared to September, coming in at €68.9 billion, while imports increased by 0.4% to €57.9 billion. Exports to the non-EU countries tumbled 5.3% month on month to €55.7 billion, while imports dipped 0.6% to €53.3 billion.
