The German trade surplus came in at €21.4 billion in February, down from January's €27.6 billion but up from €16.9 billion registered in February 2023, the country’s Federal Statistical Office Destatis announced in a report on Monday.
The country's calendar and seasonally adjusted goods exports amounted to €132.9 billion, falling 2% on a monthly level and 4.4% year over year. Imports stood at €111.5 billion, rising 3.2% month on month and dropping 8.7% on an annual level.
Exports to the European Union slid 3.9% in February compared to January, coming in at €72.9 billion, while imports tumbled 5.7% to €57.5 billion. Exports to the non-EU countries edged up 0.4% month on month to €60 billion, while imports surged 14.7% to €54 billion.
