German United Services Trade Union (ver.di) on Monday called on ground staff of Lufthansa Group to conduct a fresh two-day strike on March 7 and 8 as the fourth round of negotiations with the airline have failed.
"No one can believe that this company will be announcing record annual results this week, that bonuses for board members will be increased substantially and that employees on the ground, some of whom earn 13 euros per hour, no longer even know how to make ends meet in Germany's most expensive cities," the union's negotiator Marvin Reschinsky commented.
The fifth round of negotiations between Lufthansa and the union is expected to take place on March 13.
