The German government is considering sending self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze PzH 2000 to Ukraine to boost its defenses against the Russian invasion, according to a report published by Welt Am Sonntag.

"We are in talks with various partners with the plan of providing effective support to Ukraine, including in the field of artillery. There are various options that are currently being examined," the Defense Ministry's spokesperson confirmed for the newspaper.

The German military currently operates around 40 of 119 howitzers of this type, the report added, hinting Kiev could receive a single-digit number of these armed vehicles.
