A German government spokesperson stated the European Union country does not have independent information on the involvement of German-supplied arms in the attack in Russia's Kursk region by Ukraine, which Moscow labeled as a terrorist act, RIA Novosti reported on Friday.
Responding to a question from RIA, the unknown German spokesperson acknowledged the existence of reports claiming the use of German-made weaponry by Ukrainian forces but described them as "contradictory." They did not confirm or deny the usage of German weapons. Earlier, the German newspaper, Bild, reported the sighting of at least three German Marder infantry fighting vehicles in the Kursk.
During the day, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations elevated to emergency of federal character the situation in the Kursk region.
