Goldberg says WH should fix breach, not blame reporters

The Atlantic's editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, who reported on being mistakenly added to a Signal chat where US officials were discussing military strikes on Yemen, told the BBC that the White House should fix its security breach instead of blaming reporters.

The White House insisted earlier today that no classified material was texted in the group chat and that no war plans were discussed. Goldberg reacted by telling the news agency that the text messages seemed like "sensitive, war-planning information" to him. "This is why we put the all the information on our website, just so people can read themselves and make up their own minds," he added.

Goldberg said President Donald Trump's administration is blaming reporters instead of "actually acknowledging that they have a massive national security breach, and that they should just go fix it."
