Malaysian authorities are currently negotiating a fine in the $2 billion to $3 billion range for the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. for the alleged part its high ranking officials played in the 1MDB case, according to Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources on Wednesday.
The figure will be much lower than the previously proposed $7.5 billion penalty, the report noted.
It was reported earlier that Malaysian officials were negotiating a drop of criminal charges against 17 Goldman Sachs executives, but that there were difficulties in talks.
