Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was removed from the House education and budget committees after endorsing a number of conspiracy theories and aligning herself with the QAnon movement. The House voted 230-199 in favor of her removal, with 11 GOP members joining the Democrat majority.
A number of prominent Republicans have recently condemned Greene for her views, which include claims that former President Donald Trump won the 2020 election. Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell said Greene's "loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country. Somebody who’s suggested that perhaps no airplane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, that horrifying school shootings were pre-staged, and that the Clintons crashed JFK Jr.’s airplane is not living in reality."
