Hamas' senior political leader Ismail Haniyeh (pictured) stated on Tuesday that the organization is "open to discussions" following the receipt of an official proposal for a ceasefire and the exchange of hostages with Israel.
"The [Hamas] movement received the proposal that was circulated at the [Paris] meeting and it is in the process of studying it and submitting its response to it on the basis that the priority is to stop the aggression," Haniyeh emphasized, highlighting that any agreement would require a total ceasefire in the enclave.
He also mentioned that Hamas leaders were invited to Cairo for discussions regarding the requirements for the implementation of the agreement, as outlined by the Paris meeting between Israel, the US, Egypt, and Qatar yesterday.
