Ayman Nofal, member of Hamas General Military Council and commander of the Central Brigade in the Gaza Strip, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Palestinian enclave, the militant group announced on Tuesday.
"We just eliminated Ayman Nofal, a senior Hamas operative," the Israeli Defense Forces confirmed, claiming that the Hamas member was "the most dominant figure" in the "terrorist organization." "We won't stop until we eliminate Hamas," Israeli forces said. Overnight, Israel reported the death of another Hamas leader, Osama Mazini, claiming that he was responsible for "directing terrorist activities against Israel."
The clashes in the region between Israel and Hamas have entered its second week resulting in thousands of casualties. The day before, the United Nations Security Council turned down Moscow's resolution on the Gaza conflict.
