Hamas said on Wednesday that the group sent mediators "some ideas" on halting Israel's operation in Gaza and reaching a ceasefire and hostage deal with Israel.
Earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that the country's negotiators received an updated ceasefire proposal from Qatari, Egyptian and American mediators and added it is currently "examining" the proposal and will give its response to the mediators soon.
After Israel and Hamas failed to find a compromise over the past few months, the United States reportedly offered the Palestinian group last week to amend the proposal that Washington presented in late May.
