Senior Hamas official Izzat Al-Rishq denied on Thursday the latest Israeli accusations, saying in a statement that the militant group is "committed to the ceasefire agreement, which was announced by the mediators."

The comment comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office accused Hamas of backtracking and trying to "create a last-minute crisis." Israel claimed that the militant group was opposing a clause that gives Israel the right to veto the release of certain Palestinian prisoners.

The ceasefire and hostage deal was agreed upon yesterday, with the world hailing the decision.
