The number of people killed in strikes that Israeli forces carried out in Gaza's city of Khan Younis on Monday has reached 70, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said in its latest update.

The ministry added that more than 200 people have been wounded as a result of Israeli attacks.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it launched a new ground operation in Khan Younis due to Hamas' attempts to regroup in the area. The military added that it targeted weapon depots, observation posts, tunnel shafts, and buildings used by Hamas, claiming that several militant group's operatives were killed in today's offensive.
