Helicopter crashes in Hudson River

A helicopter crashed in the Hudson River in New York City on Thursday afternoon, the New York Police Department stated.

"Due to a helicopter crash in the Hudson River, in the vicinity of the West Side Highway and Spring Street, expect emergency vehicles and traffic delays in the surrounding areas," the department said in a statement on X.

At least four people were onboard the aircraft, and fatalities have been reported, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
