Hezbollah confirmed that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Friday.
In a statement, the group praised Nasrallah for his leadership during its conflict with Israel as well as its support for Palestinians. Hezbollah also vowed to continue fighting against Israel and to defend Lebanon, despite the loss of their leader.
The group has yet to reveal who will succeed Nasrallah or provide specifics on their response to his death.
