Hong Kong Government Expert Advisor and Scientific Committee on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases Chief Liu Yulong revealed on Monday that children under the age of three will be advised to get a vaccine against the global pandemic in three doses.
According to him, the consensus on the vaccination should be reached next month, explaining that children under age of three should receive their first dose in September, with a follow-up in October as the number of coronavirus-positive cases is expected to rise ahead of the winter season. The third dose could be received in the period of five months, depending on the progress of the pandemic.
In Canada, the authorities previously approved the use of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine for children under five years old.
