Houthi rebels announced on Monday that the group carried out a new assault on a United States-owned Navy ship, this time on the warship Lewis B. Puller while it was sailing through the Gulf of Aden, the forces' spokesperson Yahya Saree (pictured) stated on X.
"With the help of God Almighty, the naval forces of the Yemeni armed forces launched on Sunday evening an appropriate naval missile targeting a US Navy ship 'Lewis B Puller' while sailing in the Gulf of Aden. One of the tasks of this ship is to provide logistical support to the American forces that are engaged in waging aggression against our country," the statement reads.
According to the militia, this operation is part of the military actions taken by the armed forces of Yemen to protect their nation and a continuation of their efforts to show support for the Palestinians amid Israel's hostility.
