Houthi official Abdussalam Jahaf claimed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that it is certain a number of the United States and United Kingdom ships were hit in response to their attacks on Yemen-based Houthi targets.
He went on to say that the American, British, and Israeli "barbarism" was met with a response and that a "major battle is igniting in the Red Sea."
In a later post, he stated that the rebel group would not stop their attacks until the US and UK "leave the area," stressing that Yemen has begun "disciplining" America at sea.
