The Houthi movement claimed on Wednesday it attacked a ship and two United States destroyers in the Red Sea.
According to the group's statement shared with the media, the ship in question is Contship Ono, sailing under the flag of Liberia. The attack on it, conducted with ballistic missiles, "was prompted by the ship's owner violating the entry ban into the ports of occupied Palestine." The Houthi insisted that "[t]he operation resulted in a precise hit."
The group also stressed it conducted a "high-profile operation" featuring using drones against USS Cole and missiles against USS Laboon. The Houthis said that the destroyers were trespassing the Yemeni Armed Forces' operational zone in the Gulf of Aden.
