Hurricane Beryl death toll reaches 8

The total number of people killed across the Caribbean has reached eight after Hurricane Beryl, a Category 4 storm, hit Jamaica.

Joyce Reynolds Robinson, a spokesperson for Jamaica's Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, told CNN that a woman lost her life when a tree fell on her home.

Previously, it was reported that three persons died in Venezuela, three were killed in Grenada and one person died in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as a result of the storm.
