The United States Supreme Court struck down on Friday President Joe Biden's student debt forgiveness plan. In a 6-3 vote led by Chief Justice John Roberts, the court ruled that the measure was an unlawful use of executive powers as it was not approved by Congress.
The program would have written off up to $20,000 in student loan debts for around 43 million people. The White House said Biden "will make clear he’s not done fighting yet" later today and that he will announce "new actions to protect student loan borrowers."
