Indian Navy officials confirmed Monday that the merchant vessel MV Chem Pluto was hit by a drone last Saturday, a statement published by local journalists said.
The document said that the Indian Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal upon arrival carried out an inspection and "analysis of the area of attack and debris found on the ship, [pointing] towards a drone attack. However, further forensic and technical analysis will be required to establish the vector of attack, including the type and amount of explosive used."
On Saturday, it was reported that the mentioned vessel was hit in Indian waters, leading to accusations against Iran by the United States, which were subsequently rejected by Tehran.
