United States President Donald Trump said during a joint press conference with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron that Iran will "pay a price few countries have ever paid" in case it "threatens" the US.
Trump refused to reveal whether he will pull out of the Iran nuclear deal on May 12, but reiterated his stance that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a "terrible" deal and criticized the previous US administration for signing it. "Nobody knows what I'm going to do on May 12," he said. "We're going to see what happens on the 12th," Trump added.
Earlier, Macron noted that France is ready to work on negotiating a new nuclear deal with Iran, noting the JCPOA does solve some issues, but is "not sufficient." However, the French president insisted finding a political solution to the Iran situation is of utter importance.
