Israeli forces launched strikes in the vicinity of the Syrian capital Damascus, Syria's state-run SANA news agency reported on Thursday.

According to the report, the Syrian air defense shot down most of the missiles fired by the Israeli military from over the Golan Heights.

Several Israeli strikes on targets near the Syrian capital have been reported recently, resulting in the Damascus airport being out of service for more than two months.
