The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a "counter-terrorism operation" in the northern West Bank cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, The Times of Israel reported.
Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians in Jenin while also injuring several others late Tuesday, according to the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC). The report said that Israeli troops exchanged fire with Palestinian fighters "in the Jenin refugee camp and around it," right before "many military vehicles invaded the city." Additionally, the Israeli soldiers are said to have surrounded Jenin's Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Specialty Hospital.
All entrances to Jenin have been closed off by Israeli forces, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.
