Monkeypox vaccine approved by EU

Danish biotechnology company Bavarian Nordic said on Monday that the European Commission gave permission for its vaccine, Imvanex, to be used as protection against monkeypox.

The European Commission's decision comes days after the European Medicines agency (EMA) recommended and gave preliminary approval to the jab last week.

Monkeypox was declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO).
