Israel orders UNRWA staff to leave Jerusalem by Jan. 30

Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Danny Danon notified the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to end all operations and leave Jerusalem by January 30.

In October last year, the Israeli parliament passed legislation ending the country's ties with UNRWA and later notified the UN it would revoke the permission allowing the organization to operate in Israel and east Jerusalem.
