The Israeli Prison Authority announced the release of the second group of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli custody in adherence to the Qatar-brokered agreement.

Thirty-nine Palestinians were liberated from Israeli prisoners after 17 hostages safely returned to Israel from Gaza.

The exchange of detainees and captives faced a delay on the second day of the truce, with both Israel and Hamas accusing each other of violating the deal's terms. Israel was reported to have warned of resuming its ground operation in the Gaza Strip if Hamas failed to release the next batch of hostages by midnight.
