The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces rejected on Saturday Russia's announcement of a victory in the Kursk region. In a statement on social media, Ukrainian officials said their defensive operations in parts of Kursk continue despite a difficult situation, and units are holding positions while repelling enemy assaults.

According to Kiev, five Russian attacks have already been repelled today, with another clash ongoing. Ukrainian forces are also active in parts of Russia’s Belgorod region. The General Staff described Kremlin claims of Ukrainian defeat as a "propaganda ploy," aimed at masking the reality on the ground.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed the alleged victory in Kursk would aid Moscow's advances elsewhere.
