Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari revealed on Monday that Hamas is holding 222 people hostage at the moment, including foreigners.
Hagari told reporters that the percentage of foreigners among those 222 is not low and reassured the public that "we are working in all ways to free the hostages and bring them home."
Hamas previously stressed it will not agree to any hostage exchange until, as the organization puts it, Israel ends its "aggression" in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Resistance News Network claimed on their Telegram channel that the IDF "abducted 125 Palestinians across the West Bank tonight, including 40 Gazan workers."
