Israeli strike allegedly kills at least 40 in Khan Younis

An Israeli airstrike killed at least 40 people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, AFP reported, citing a Gaza Civil Defense official.

Furthermore, 60 others were injured in the assault that struck at least 20 tents in the area, leaving behind large craters. The search for 15 missing people is underway.

The Israeli army previously said the attack targeted a Hamas command and control center embedded inside the humanitarian zone.
