Consumer prices in Japan in January landed in line with analysts' projections according to a report released by the Statistics Bureau of Japan on Tuesday.
The headline index rose by 2.2% year-on-year to stand at 106.9, marking a decrease when compared to the CPI of 2.6% registered in December.
Additional data for the month of January showed that consumer prices excluding fresh food and energy went up by 3.5% year-on-year, while the same index excluding only fresh food improved by 2.0% on a yearly basis.
