Japan's producer price index (PPI) rose by 2.9% in June compared to the same time period last year, aligning with expectations, the Bank of Japan revealed in a preliminary report on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, the PPI increased by 0.2% compared to last month's figure of 0.7%.
The report also shows a 2.7% growth in Japan's export price index on a contractual currency basis over the year, with no change observed on a monthly basis. Import prices recorded a year-on-year increase of 0.3% while decreasing by 0.3% month-on-month.
