Japan's retail trade up 1.1% in September

Retail sales in Japan increased 1.1% in September on a monthly basis, according to a preliminary report by the country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry published on Monday.

Compared to September 2021, retail trade jumped 4.5%.

Medicine and toiletry stores saw sales soar 12.6% annually, followed by motor vehicles which surged 10.3% and fuel, up 7.1%.
